There should be an ACIA trustee in charge of our security contract. The head constable in our area should let that trustee know what crime is taking place in our HOA so the board can put it on our website and send out an email blast.
So I decided to go look on our website to see who that trustee might be and found out we have a Safety Advisory Committee. That committe is made up of Bob Garlington, Chairman, Ric Halbrook, Board Represenative and Jimmy Wells, member.
There is a fairly long write-up you can read. Below is just a portion of what is on the website.
"GOALS OF SAC: Enhance safety awareness through increased citizen awareness of crime problems and their impact on the community.
We want to learn of citizen concerns about conditions or situations they observe where timely warnings to our neighbors may be appropriate. These warnings or notices will be posted from time to time under the Security section of the association website. Some situations, such as recurring incidents of similar crimes in the neighborhood may warrant email blasts to residents."
Now, if this committee is doing what it was created to do (they have goals) and that goal is to increase awareness of crime, wouldn't you think we should have had a constable tell one of the SAC so one of them could put out an e-blast?
They say "some situations may warrant email blasts" but I think all robberies, burglaries, stolen vehicles, vandalizing of anything, well pretty much any crime that might affect any of us members we should be made aware.
So why does the constable not know he suppose to keep the SAC Chairman or the Board Represenative updated to crime in our HOA so they in turn can keep the members informed?
