I don't know why on my end you would feel though I'm not giving the whole story! Idk where you see a BB goal but maybe it's not the same one in between my house! Lol I live extremely close to the Atasca Woods pool if that helps... You can only enter and exit my "loop" from Aerobic!

I drove through all of AW this afternoon and found 8 other "illegal" BB goals on the street or in between houses where according to CAM they can NOT be! (and go ahead say it - yes I have no life so I drove down every street! Thank goodness AW isn't that big!!) 😎

As a community I'd try to fight this issue. HOA may cave if enough homeowners support the issue. I'm all for kids to be shooting hoops on the street than getting into trouble not having something to occupy their time.

Perhaps your HOA needs to install Hoops at their park like ACIA has. That way there would be little need for them in the street.

@Lace Yes you are right there is a goal at the AW pool. Which actually works for the kids near my house cause it's very close. But.. The streets in the further area of AW as a parent, I wouldn't want my child ( depending on age) walking that far w/o a parent with them.

I wonder if the CAM just give notices when they are in bad moods, like their dog did his business on their clean carpet as they were walking out the door and it reflects in their citation giving? Just seems to me they pick on the people that will do something to fix and those that don't they just ignore?

I would love to know if all 8 other BB goal "owners" had the constables stop at their house also. I keep my yard mowed, last year had a complete new landscape done to front of house & my trees trimmed, had a new larger front porch poured to look updated, & about to get my fence replaced. I care about what my property looks like. Most other houses around don't necessarily look bad, but haven't replaced or updated landscape or trimmed trees since homes were built. I would love to also have @Goldi1959 elaborate on what house she is referring to cause I don't believe it would be mine!

This thread just keeps on giving! LOL The basketball goal thing has been a topic of discussion for a long time in Atasca Woods! Many very vocal residents want their kids to be able to play in the street. There are also many residents that disagree with this and don't like driving thru our community and having to stop for dis-respectful kids that play in the street and won't move out of the way for vehicular traffic. Tuckersmom I am not saying this is your kids... I don't know, but the problem DOES exist, so the HOA Board has come up with a policy and that policy is being enforced by CAM (IT IS THEIR JOB - SO GET OFF THEIR BACK!). If you don't like the policy, then attend the Homeowners Board meeting and voice your opinion... I am sure you will find normal people (just like you) that are willing to listen and you will probably find people that have opposing views... that is the way it is suppose to work... The Board represents all of the people and must make decisions that are best for the community as a whole, not just a few people who want basketball goals in front of their house!

@Atasca Veteran I do understand it's their job to enforce. First I'm not complaining that the goals must remain.. Frankly I could care less if they took it, I just want everyone to be treated equal, and I don't want to have to deal w it's removal. Second I kind of found it offensive that possibility others had insinuated that they knew my house and there were other " offenses" going on hence the police is all. So thanks for the advise.

How about kickball in the street, must be illegal also? Or bike riding, surely that's an arrest able offence? Come on, seriously, let kids be kids!
