@nikkole it hurts me as a parent to see my daughter read about what happen. It hurts to see her have some of the same emotions that I had when I read it. She is lucky enough to have a diary written by my mom. It was my mom's experience as a black woman when she was around her age. MLK was there to.speak at her church but her mom wouldn't let her go because she was afraid the church would be bombed.

It is our history not yours and theirs ours everyone not just black people. We all share the fact that slaves were owned and most treated horribly. I don't know a white person today that would be proud if their families had owned slaves it would embarrass most. We all can now share the glory of MLK and freedom of slavery along with the end of segregation. It makes us all sad to see how people were treated but the fight was won when we became one.

My family is a mixture of races, so that is why I don't have to tell her that this is a group of small minded individuals. Her friends are all shades...so I don't have to prove to her that white people are good people. I have not raised her to pre judge a race by the actions of a few. I won't go into details about our conversation but she has no crutches

@757beach Awesome because our family is also multi races. We used to joke to my youngest BIL that he had to go with oriental that way we would have all represented. Some people just suck but it's not because of their color.

The problem is people don't listen and look at their surroundings. I work with everyone. We are all out here busting our ***(privileged or not)
We get along until some media outlet forces hate down our.throat.
