Ed Miller and the Sensible Solution Committee are all about Transparency....right? So why don't they have their two candidates running on a forum that they will make a by-law saying all spending will be shown on our web site with detailed accountability. I would like to know How much the check was made out for, who it was made out to and and what did they EXACTLY do to get paid that money. Every dollar this board spends should be accounted for.
Now if two people would run for the board that would just do that one simple thing it might be worth taking the time to vote. However, if we members got to see that much detail of where our money goes, our monthly meetings might be standing room only.
Lammers told everyone at a monthly meeting that plants and mulch were stolen from the entrance of the Golf Villas. She said they did not take bags of mulch, no, no, they took the mulch that had already been spread around the plants that were taken. So, you are telling me someone shoveled up mulch and stole it? That is what she said. So that was enough to go take a look. You could see that the plants had never been planted, you could see there were not as many as she claimed, and you could see that there was not one speck of mulch that was left behind. How is that possible? Not one speck of mulch left anywhere. Did they use a vacuum? But she got the board to vote to give approx. $500 to replace the supposedly stolen plants and mulch. Oh, and one more thing. That entrance was so overridden with weeds. Had not been taken care of for sometime. So she would have us believe that plants and mulch was put in and nothing was weeded before doing so? But then she also told us that security cameras were necessary at Shores Park because bar-b-que grills had been stolen sometime earlier in the year from that park. Show me the police report please! Then she said the ornamental trees at the entrance of Atascocita Point had been trimmed at a good little chunk of change. When a member went to look they informed Lammers that the ornamental trees had not been trimmed and the response to that (with a roll of the eyes) was that it was the oaks that had been trimmed. Nope, got pictures of those trees also. Nothing has been trimmed at that entrance. No crepe myrtles or big oaks. I imagine if she were questioned again she would say it must have been another entrance.
This is just small stuff that goes on. The board, and not just Jimmy and Laura, but all the board condone doing a big majority of our association business during executive session. They claim it's all that secret stuff that we can't know because of Texas law. Guess what? they could apply a number to each "secret" thing and stay in the room and say something like...."we are going to have to go forward with a lawsuit because of unpaid fees for homeowner ABC123" Do I hear a second?" This taking an hour in executive session is ludicrous. If they have to go into executive session, they are suppose to come back out and then tell the members what they discussed and decided just keeping any personal information to themselves.
