I think the parents are cowards! No way, no HOW would I send my kids forward to make things easier for me to get into a country. TOTAL BS!These people are USING their kids to get what they want, to work the system better to their advantage. Secure our borders. Let's deal with ALL the illegals already here and start enforcing the laws we have. No place in this world can you just go enter another country illegally and have them cater to your every need, make special provisions for you and let you stay around for as long as you want illegally.

I think we have a group of homeless people living behind the Atascocita library. There is bedding, some grocery carts(Target), clothing, garbage. Looks like a group has been there for weeks. You can see it all from Pinehurst Blvd.

@HumbleGirl: I would say the primary problems they are facing is poverty, criminality, and corrupt governments. In my opinion the ultimate solution might be for Congress to authorize nation building so to speak in our own back yard. We spent billions of dollars to capture the hearts and minds of Iraqis and we see what good that did. Perhaps we need to redirect some of the money to Mexico and other Central American countries. Of course there will be cries of socialism by the shortsighted. Nevertheless, we should attempt to bypass official channels there and funnel funds directly to social organizations. In addition we might be able to further assist (because we do some of that now) these governments in rooting out organized criminal activity. None of these efforts would be easy but what's the alternative?

Of course, the OP does not address why there is a sudden incursion of children causing this most recent crises. Pandering rhetoric from the President, would be first and foremost.
However, I would not be so blind from the trees in the forest...to recognize that NO Congress, democratic or republican lead...has done one damn constructive thing to fix the ongoing illegal immigration problem we have. But to not recognize this Presidents irresponsible behavior in this, is paramount to Congress' lameness.
No one is listening to the people. It was the conservatives among us, who thwarted the attempted amnesty tried by GWB...but was beat down...and they are the only ones verbal about it now.

Immigration is rearing it's head again...I think I covered this before...To find the solution, we need to look North and ask why the Canadians aren't coming here like the Mexicans? How can we make the Mexicans more like the Canadians? Would it be in our "National Security" interest to do so?

@iamfaithfulbeliever: Would you be willing to take some of that fat Defense budget and invest it in improving Mexico's economy so their citizens will stay at home? We can invest in destruction...But can we invest in construction to alleviate a national "problem"? Did you know that Mexican Immigration actually regressed during Bush's "Great Recession" of 2007-2009(yeah, they actually started to go back)? So, if you want them to stop coming here, you can either improve their economy or tank ours...

I just can't see MOST parents putting their child in this predicament, sending them off into the unknown, traveling many many miles through super dangerous Mexico from Central America...just for their own selfish purposes? I would sacrifice my life for my kids in a heartbeat and there is no scenario where I would voluntarily place them in harm's way. I believe no matter what ethnicity, parents all over the world feel the same.There is more to this.
