[quot bbk : That must have been some good food to last for 32 years![quote-end-tag-mismatch]
@ladybeachbum : Excellent food . It was a small cafe & most food was carried to the cars by the car hops & eaten there or taken home . What I learned was IF your food was ((( really good ))) people will come no matter where you are . Interstate 10 comes through our town on the north side of town . This cafe was built before I 10 on old Hwy 90 a 2 way road on the edge nearing the end of the city limits of town & a rail road track runs along the other side of hwy 90 . This is located about 5 miles from I -10 . But because of word of mouth they had more business than they knew what to do with . Their meat was purchased from a butcher 10 miles away . My father in-law went to Evangeline made bread factory & timed how long he wanted the bread baked for his hamburger buns . A pickle salesman came in one day while I was there . My mother in-law said I'm going to show you why I don't purchase your pickles . She went & got her big jar of pickles took a hand full & spread them on the table top & did the same with his . She showed him that his brand of pickles had more ends in the jar then hers did . She said look at all the waste in your jar because we're not putting that on our burgers . I 100 % believe if someone like my in-laws were put into the overlook they would be successful . They raised 3 college educated kids with their same work ethics . We pull into small towns when we travel & ask where do the locals eat ????
