@AtascaMom : It is a very mild jalapeno flavor. Maybe they can spice it up on request. They may not have the same menu at this other location though.

@Vodkatini : That is what I was wondering. I checked out their menu and they have lots I would like especially salads for a light dinner so I hope they have them.

They sure didn't seem to give the Overlook much of a try.

@tflea : In business, you need to know when to fold em'.

@tflea : We went several times. Never more than four people there when we visited. Food was great. Even though they did some advertising, that location did not seem to draw patrons. We frequent the Huffman location and will definitely go to the new Atascocita restaurant.

@Slotmantex : Yep, some locations are just 'poison'. I think people still think of it as a country club and think they have to dress up.

We had dinner there tonight.
Food was very different from any other Italian food that we've ever had. One example was the marinara, it was extremely sweet. The calamari had very little coating on it and was overcooked but chewy. The stuffed mushrooms and arancini were also "different". We ordered a lot to get a variety, but couldn't detect any Italian seasoning on anything, just sugar.
To each their own, some may like it, sadly it wasn't for us... We'll stick with the other place, just this side of the river.

Wow, so you don't have live in Pinehurst or dress up to go to the Overlook? That place is on the golf course, right?

@CelticStorm : No, but there's not much to go there for these days. You can pay a fee and play golf.

Well, it is apparent that our side of the Lake is excited to have them! Our little party of 7 had reservations for 7:15 on Friday, as we had an event to attend by 9:00 (Green Oak Tavern - blues ( but that's another post); I digress..... anyway - some **** raised their hand that they were "nonamementioned" party and the hostess gave them our reserved table. The precious young folks at the bar gave us drinks gratis but we still were not seated in a timely manner. So, point 1 - teach your hostess to see an i.d.
point 2 - kudos to the folks at the bar
point 3 - put some curtains up because the lobby was hotter than ****
point 4 - looking forward to trying again.
