@bbk I lock my bedroom door, as well, plus have a dog or two and a shot gun, but I will have the spray before tonight. I love being at the beach because this stuff just doesn't happen there. We have an occasional break in but rare. I've gone to sleep with the door unlocked. These days I do lock the door because the world is just different now, sadly. Thank you for posting all the information.

@ladybeachbum A former co-worker was fishing in Matagorda and a couple of them were in the water with him. He said he got out of there as fast as he could!

In your car, I would keep a can of pepper spray. I don't think it has the same warning, does it? You can get them for your keychain too.

@Catmae I could see it in the bay but I didn't think they liked salt water. There's a lot of fishing going on all around my houses and I have never heard of the guys leaving the water because of a snake. I have some full time residents that fish all the time so I plan to ask them but I will be seeing my feet for sure if in the water!

@ladybeachbum You are welcome & I figure once Hot Shot figures out their product is multi use they'll triple the price !!! I keep cans all over my house & if I decide to answer my door I always have a can in my hand . After today people will knock on our doors & think damn , I wouldn't live in this subdivision for anything every single house these folks are fighting wasp !!!!!

@ladybeachbum That's exactly what I thought too. I said as much, because I didn't believe they liked salt water. He told me it was definitely salt water, but it was more in the shallows.

@bbk Does it have to be Hot Shot or any kind of wasp spray. We use a ton of it just for the wasp. My son is paranoid about wasp and spiders. At 25, he calls me to come and get them. I just laugh at him and call him a big sissy. Wait until I put a can of spray in his car!

Good grief I wonder if Dollar General reads our thread ,hubby just got home from there & said Hot Shot is on sale for $3.00 per can normal there is $3.50 . I sent him to get some for our kids .

@Catmae More in the shallows? Dang it, not something I wanted to read. Now, I have to go get some of those fishing boots just to go shelling? I did find some nice sand dollars and tons of welks this last trip so maybe worth the risk....

@Catmae I was wondering about that but I have tons of stuff in my car and my truck that stays in there that are sprays. I remember a long time ago something exploded in one of the cars but think it was flat repair.
