My thoughts are we all live in our own realities. Accordingly if something is upsetting in your life it's very real for you. That said it's always good to put things into perspective. In regards to the overall situation we find ourselves in we do have much to be thankful for. Ours is a temporary upheaval to our normal state of being.

To that end we can all thank God that we don't live in one of the worn torn countries around the world where normality hasn't existed in decades. We have no bombs falling on our heads, and by and large most of us have access to clean water, food, shelter, and health care. As for pandemics they have broken out periodically around the globe for untold decades. We have just been fortunate or blessed in recent history to have escaped severe outbreaks here.

While none of this is pleasant just remember that this too shall pass. Emoticon

My mental state is always grateful ( and of course sarcastic - gotta be me ) to be alive each new and wonder day to take part in new experiences and keep learning and observing for as long as humanly possible while we all are hurdling on this rock at 67,000 mph around a freaking ball of burning gas that itself is traveling 514,000 mph through the dark cold void of space.

I'm more good than bad and I feel guilty about it.

My life is so much slowed down, usually I'm a constant hamster on a wheel. I thought that was how I liked it...but also enjoying this new pace. At least for now.

I'm still working a lot of hours and my work output is insane, but I have a lot more downtime. I love being able to mop or fold a load while my air pods play the latest conference call saga.

I also noticed that having all my kids home, safe and sound around the clock....I guess I realized how much of my time was spent worrying about them. Where are they, what are they doing, do they have money, is their schoolwork done, will they be hurt in their sports event, etc, my mom brain was just always just running i guess. And they are pretty much grown so...but I have no worries now! It's a weird and wonderful feeling.

I fee sad I didn't get to visit my dad, I missed two other trips, missed some plays and concerts and a comedy show. Hate that my kids are missing their college or school experiences and getting behind on athletic practices.

But I am sooooo lucky to not be hurting financially or in any major way. I really feel for those that are.

I'm doing better today. My life hasn't really changed other than the homeschool. I haven't really been one to go out much for a while, anyway. I just have to stop myself from all the worry of what might happen, because I can't do anything about it. Sometimes something so funny can happen, that it lifts my mood for the rest of the day, and that's what happened today.

@seegee : I have found daily humor in TikTok. I know I'm old and late to the party but seriously, people are so darn funny. It's brainless humor and will get your mind out of a funk in a snap. Give it a try, it's no risk if you are just scrolling through!

WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ...

I heard that we are all in the same boat, but it's not like that. We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Your ship could be shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa.

For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial & family crisis.

For some that live alone they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest & time with their mother, father, sons & daughters.

With the $600 weekly increase in unemployment some are bringing in more money to their households than they were working. Others are working more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales.

Some families of 4 just received $3400 from the stimulus while other families of 4 saw $0.

Some were concerned about getting a certain candy for Easter while others were concerned if there would be enough bread, milk and eggs for the weekend.

Some want to go back to work because they don't qualify for unemployment and are running out of money. Others want to kill those who break the quarantine.

Some are home spending 2-3 hours/day helping their child with online schooling while others are spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday.

Some have experienced the near death of the virus, some have already lost someone from it and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal.

Some have faith in God and expect miracles during this 2020. Others say the worst is yet to come.

So, friends, we are not in the same boat. We are going through a time when our perceptions and needs are completely different.

Each of us will emerge, in our own way, from this storm. It is very important to see beyond what is seen at first glance. Not just looking, actually seeing.

We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a very different journey.

I miss going out with friends, Yoga, movies, meetups, and especially my Bible study. But online has to suffice and snail mail is making a comeback.

My mental state is declining very rapidly. My job is hit and miss. I am on call 24/7, and only go to work when called. Unemployment pays me depending on my work hours. No work equals $1121. Twenty hours equals $840. twenty five hours equals $0. I hate to admit it, but I pray that I work less than 25 hours a week. The two weeks I exceeded 25 hours, I worked 26 and 27. Those 1 and 2 hours cost me $600 each week. My employer doesn't care. When a client calls, we have to respond.
Last night was nice. Our anniversary. Then **** got real today. My wife woke me at 3 am. Her chest hurts. She has dry cough. She has 99 degree temp (her normal is 97). Boom! Right outta nowhere. I went to work today. Come home at 3 pm. All the symptoms still present. Plus she wont stop crying. Trying to set up testing now.
So, yes, my mental state is not too good.
Also wanted to add, I have no symptoms.

@MooMaw : Now, being quarantined with MiMi has to be the greatest pleasure. He is getting to know you and that love will go on forever. Why can't my son go out and find his lady and bring me a grandbaby? I'd gladly stay in!
Enjoy every minute!

I requested my unemployment payment and got $0 for both weeks. I know there's a "waiting week" so I'm assuming that's what one is but idk why nothing for both? And it's not like I can call to find out. 😒
