I think it is a personal choice, we definitely have not reached pandemic stages yet in America.

@tinytim : We should do everything to keep the virus away but deciding to not go to work or the grocery would be the same as closing down the Rodeo. People have spent a lot of money and Houston depends on the money it brings. Being careful yourself should be the answer at least until it is more than a few people here that went out of the country.

I'll paraphrase my comment on the same thread from the other website.
I was there yesterday and it wasn't very busy, but it was also cold. I've never heard of Maren Morris, but I don't listen to that type of music anyway, so I don't know if that's part of it. The stadium seemed packed for her show though. Wanting to cancel everything is overreacting. This isn't ebola we're dealing with. If you're worried, stay home and hold on to your hoard of TP and water. No need to ruin the livelihood of others just to make you feel safe.

I don't know much about the actual rodeo part, but don't these cowboys count on these winnings to fund them. This is their paycheck. Also can they qualify for other bigger rodeos? What happens to them if its cancelled? Are they sponsored? Does someone else pay their way here & back home?
The entertainment is here 1 day. The cowboys are here the whole time.

@TexanFan1 : Yes, that's what I was saying. This is how they get paid so just getting here cost them then they have to qualify etc. It's not a very profitable business to be in.
