That gal in scrubs approached me about 6 months ago at HEB and said she needed gas money to get to Beaumont. I told her I did not have any cash. Well, when I arrived home, I realized that I had forgotten something. Next day, I returned to HEB and, low and behold, she approached me again as I was getting in my car and said the very same thing. I turned to her and said, "You haven't gotten to Beaumont yet? I saw you yesterday." She immediately turned around and walked off without a word.
I had a guy (with a pregnant "girlfriend" in the car) ask me for gas money at Texaco once. Said he needed to get to the hospital with his wife (said wife was smoking a cigarette, btw!). I told him I didn't have any cash and he responded by telling me I could just "swipe my card" at his pump and he promised to only put $5 in.
Oh yes this lady is a true scammer. At the Walmart gas station about three months ago she came up and was ready to ask my wife money but she did not realize I was behind her and I told her my wife has nothing to give you. She turned around and walked off fast. My wife was in the car with the kids and she did not realize this lady was sneaking up to her window.
I guess I have the opposite energy where people look at me and say who hell no I am not going to mess with this guy. One time I had a lady and her family come to me out of the blues in Deerbrook mall wanting to walk with me and my family saying she felt being stalked by three thugs. I turned and looked and saw them and they turned around and walked fast.
@AlettertoElise I'm not sure who I should be more afraid of, the scrub or the people on ADC . Joking, but seriously these type are running around the area needing a fix.
Downtown, I avoid eye contact and if they still say something, I just give them a confused look and keep going. Most downtown people get to know us common workers and stop asking. They look for tourists.
