Horrible story. Glad your family is ok. Could have had a different ending. This is just to close to home!!!

Sorry it happened, I have been approached a couple of times when you have the kiddos with you it is scarier! Be safe

I had a woman with a man in her car approach me at HEB Kingwood as I was leaving my car. She just asked for a few dollars for food. She looked like she was using so I just said I was sorry I didn't have cash. She then said sadly that no one does. I've been approached in Galveston at Randalls and WalMart Atascocita. None acted angry when I said no so your wife was good to have the kids and her purse in the car.
If someone truly needs food for their kids or something like that then I would tend to give it to them but you really can't trust any of them any more. Glad she and your kiddos are safe.

I will now notice every woman with scrubs on. I'm always at HEB and glad I haven't run into her.

@West-Tex The ones I've encountered didn't wear scrubs! Scrubs would be an upgrade.

I haven't seen her either, but I'll be looking now!Since we are discussing scammers, I had one follow my kids and I to our car yesterday as we were leaving Fins, which is in the Aldi parking lot. White guy supposedly raising money for a treatment center in Houston. He wasn't rude, but I didn't like how persistent he was and how he followed us all the way to our car. My kids are still talking about it today as it scared them. If I had been alone I would have given him a piece of my mind...

Yes this lady goes from store to store. Weeks ago, she came up to my dh at the Target in Humble but he knew the scam from a FB post. Then last Sunday she was in the Lowes parking lot there in Atascocita asking for money. I walked past her and loudly said "It's a scam" so the poor guys she was hustling would know. She must make $ at thought because she's been doing it forever. I'm glad your wife and kids are okay.

No one ever comes up to me like that. I don't allow it.

Please contact HEB Mgr just to inform him this happen. This will give them a thumbs up or an opportunity to implement more security in the parking lot.

Sorry I couldn't find the post. I'm sure a lot of us have actually seen her though. I know she's been everywhere from porter to atascocita. No telling where else. Hopefully the constables can keep a lookout too

I don't carry a gun, I do, in my spiritual practice, protect myself with strong positive energy. People will get sort of close to me and I just kind of "block" them and they will back off. Now, I wouldn't go doing a lot of high-risk stuff thinking that my hippy glow would truly stop a bullet or anything, but it does seem to run off your everyday scammers and ne'erdowells.

It does happen a lot, similar stories. Husband had a guy tell him that he ran out of gas, when husband refused to give cash, the guy got in his car and sped off. Hope your wife and boys are not too shook up over this idiot and I agree management needs to know.

Security doesn't stop them at Walmart.
It's getting bad when you can't run to the store. I wish everyone would stop giving so they go away. At least the ones with signs wait till you go to them. I don't trust anyone that gets that close to me, anything could happen.
