I bought some sticky traps, baited with peanut butter and a chocolate chip, slowly opened the door of the room to put the trap down and what did I see??? The little vermin jerk was curled up and sleeping in the base of the camera that was set up over the spring-loaded fancy trap! He ran behind the couch to stare at me, so I put down the sticky trap and left. He was stuck within 30 seconds of me leaving the room...success. Now, let's hope that he was the only one...

DD thinks "awwwww....he's soooooo cute!" Vermin. Diseased carrying vermin.

You can pour vegetable oil on the sticky pad and release them into the woods.

Release them back so they can go gather up their family and all move in! I tried that ONCE .... I made the mistake of driving him a mile away... Needless to say he got loose in my car. I couldn't stand the thought of him climbing my leg while driving so I put the snapping trap on the floor board.. Next morn problem solved.

@Sammee He'll come back! Stick the other side together and gently step on it.

I can't do that! I don't care if they die, but I can't be the deliverer of death.

Unfortunately, Mr. Nibbles got his little snout stuck firmly in the goop....it was a quick death....I think.

I really did read that veggie oil will let them run free, but I'm not that nice to take him for a ride. I was just trying to give a vague answer in case @brightlights is squeamish. I'm with @tuckersmom on the no-vermin-in-the-vehicle rule.

My dad said to take electrical wire and zap him...men....

Awww, he really was cute though, curled up like that. Did you ever see The Green Mile? What was that little mousie's name? Mr. Jingles! He was cute too. Emoticon

@Sammee One of my friends had a little mouse in her house several years ago and they finally caught it with one of those glue traps. Her dumb dh tossed it over their fence (their home backed up to a creek and large field, no houses behind them). Later that day, they were outside doing some yard work and along came a big cat with the glue trap (and mouse!) stuck to its face.

They whistled innocently and mosied on back inside.

Moral: If you're going to dispose of a dead glue-trapped mouse, wrap it in something and put it in a covered trash can!

One of my dear children had a rat for a pet. I didn't know it til she came down stairs with the dang thing on her shoulder to give it a bath. My therapy sessions have helped me tremendously and I am able to read this thread without twitching.

One time my brother put out those sticky pads at our parents house. Well my little doxie, being the curious pup that she is, got stuck on one. She squealed SO loud! I thought the big one had bitten her. OMG! I think she still needs therapy sessions to get over it. But now she is more careful of where she steps!

We had a memorial service and said some nice words about Mr. Nibbles. I didn't want to bury it and have diseased and rotting mouse coodies in the soil of my yard, though. My dog would probably dig it up and bring it inside....
