>> Let us know the outcome.

@cheryltom:

Your daughter will be in the class for 7 more class periods at which point we will move her. At present the schedule will not absorb a large number of level changes. To build it to do so would mean starting the Pre AP at 35 students and I am not willing to do so, nor would that be fair for anyone in those classes. We take the level drop requests and if they are numerous we disperse one of the Pre AP classes and create a new Algebra III class.

Again, she will be moved if you still desire it, but not immediately.

THIS IS HIS RESPONCE!!!! Do you know what pisses me off the worst? It's no longer about the students it's about a numbers game!

We as a society wonder what's going on with our student's education well here is a perfect example!

I'm very tempted to schedule to speak at the next board meeting in reference to this bc I do believe this sets the precedence for our education in Humble schools.

WOW, so he knows now she doesn't even have the required prep class to be in the current class and his decision is to leave her there.

Who fights for the kids now days besides the parents?

Thanks

@lynnsgirl:

Go over his head and call and talk to someone at district office. She'll miss too much over 7 days of absence from the class she's supposed to be in and get behind.

I could go on for days about the administration (across the board) for Humble ISD. School Districts end up having a good deal of power and parents have little control. I've had my fair share of head-butting with some of them and it was difficult to get things sorted out even with attorneys and hearings involved.

They want all of us to simply accept whatever they roll down the mountain, and all of the neat little slogans and motto's they have around the campuses are pretty much bunk.

The only thing that matters to the higher level admins IS numbers. Their jobs depend on making sure those numbers add up right for attendance, test scores, and classroom size. If your child has to be thrown under the bus for the overall good of "the numbers" they'll damn sure do it.

Not a big fan of Humble ISD, in case I wasn't clear enough in my rant!

I must express how I feel. You are the principal, and you are aware that she sits in a class that she is not prepared to be in because she took an on level math class last year. At this time, you are willing to allow her to miss more instruction in order to accommodate the number game at AHS which of course is not her problem she is just a kid!

How very disappointing this is to know you think this is ok!

It’s no longer about the students it’s all about the numbers. We as a society sit back and wonder why our children are not meeting maximum success rates.

I will instruct her to get a drop slip via your request. I want her moved ASAP.

I will be waiting to see just how much more instruction she will lose to accommodate the number game you are forced to play at AHS.

Sincerely.

I just senT him THE ABOVE...I really just don't even care if someone on here knows him personally and tells him honestly.

What a **** poor job!

Seriously!

I'M JUST APPALED!

Hey, don't encourage me I'm crazy like that! Being raised in the country and being Italian don't help me much. Thru the years I have really learned to tone it down.

Funny thing, in high school I was head cheerleader, homecoming queen, dairy day queen, most likely to succeed and I really could go on and on..... Well anyway,,,

I was also a fist fighter! Yes, I was! I remember one time this girl said something I didn't like and I took a roll of pennies and broke her nose. OK, thru the years I have re-visited these people and ask for forgiveness. But damn, I just didn't tolerate much.

Daddy always taught me if I hit first I get an *** whoopin if they hit me and I don't beat their *** I still get an *** whoopin anyway.....seriously. The rest speaks for itself. I assure I didn't want my *** whooped at school or at home so I learned real quick!

For those that judge this.....No my kiddos don't know this and I assure you they don't really even know how to argue b/c they aren't raised this way.

Therapy did go a long way!!!!! LOL...

I was telling a story the other day about when I was younger and on the way to my job downtown involving me on the hood of some guys car I didn't know from Adam trying to kick in his windshield and rip off his wiper blades. The horrified look on the face of the person I was relaying that story was pretty embarrassing.

For sure I've calmed down in my older years. (Now I know how hard it is to kick a windshield in even with high heels.)

dang girl...I wouldn't want to mess with you in high school either...you are not going to take any crap from people are you?...especially when it comes down to your babies...I admire that...Lana said she would come by and pick us up and we will drive you down there and go ape on them...lol...ok, seriously....I know the frustrations also...I dealt with the school district on some serious stuff too..and I wrote the super and even board members...nothing done...makes you wanna just spit...keep strong..but also...don't let it stress you.

LG how was your daughter allowed to enroll in precal if see did not have the prerequisites?
It seems to me that the school is responsible for that and they should let here switch ASAP and fix their mistake instead of letting your daughter fall further behind.Ask them to step up to the plate and be responsible and reasonable.
