@Robmann1098 I am sorry for your son's problems and as a parent I know how it is with kids. I can't even say I never did it because, I did. I even raced my own much older brother and won much to his surprise. It was on a country road but still very dangerous because we had others in both cars. We were lucky and your son was, too. The officer very likely kept anyone from being hurt or dead. My son missed the racing gene from the two of us and I am so glad. If it wasn't for the news and internet none of us would know. We all make mistakes.

20 and 21 are not kids.

They are idiots for thinking 1960 is a place to drag race. It could have been anyone of us that ended up being killed by one of these selfish, immature, self-entitled dumb azzzes. Certainly, both are old enough to know the responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel of the car. I have NO sympathy.

Most of us see reckless driving and insane speeding on 1960 every single day, and the sirens are practically non-stop out there hauling people to the hospital.

This whole" kids will be kid"s deal I'm not signing on for. By their ages I had been living on my own paying my own way and starting to raise my own family. (Yes, I started young.) I've made plenty of mistakes but drag racing down a major thoroughfare putting other people's lives at risk wasn't ever on my list.

Both of these families should be grateful that these "young-uns" only got arrested. They could be planning funerals and gearing up for lawsuits from other victims.

@lana7018 No, they are not children. But obviously, nor are they adults. Maturity doesn't come with a number. It comes with lessons learned.

@lana7018 I agree they are very lucky to have been stopped. They should have known better. This is not small town USA like I lived in. I am only saying mistakes are made and hopefully they move forward to a responsible adulthood.

@TheCatsMeow
Baloney.

They are legally adults and should be acting like one or pay the consequences. Adulthood is actually legally defined by a number and it is our job as parents to ready our children to understand when that mantle passes they don't get a pass anymore for being a child.

It's pretty much that simple.

@lana7018 by no means is what these two did acceptable but sitting there judging someone because you have not done the 'same thing' they did is sickening. As a young adult please do not sit there and say you've never in your entire lifetime done something that could have put others in harms way. Example, drinking and driving, road rage, public intoxication, doing drugs, getting in a vehicle with someone who had been drinking ect... The list goes on and on. It ridiculous how many of you sit behind your computers and judge the character of these two young men who apparently still have some growing up to do but to down right degrade them is appalling. I guarantee 98 % of you people judging these 2 have at some point done something you shouldn't have and regret it just like these 2 do. So before any of you decide to degrade and judge these 2 young men please take a look at your own lives and past mistakes.

@atascocitadotcom maybe you need to get your facts straight before posting a feed like this. The first young man Anthony Cano was not in possession of a prohibited weapon. Maybe if you read the police report and did some fact checking you would know that.

@thelma2017

What they did was stupid and self-centered.

They deserve to be arrested. If I break the law, I deserve to be arrested, AND called out by my fellows.

They are very, very lucky they only got arrested.

For the record, I've never been arrested. I don't drive drunk (never have) and I don't do drugs either. Maybe I was raised differently but we understood that our actions had impact on society and that we had to take responsibility for our own actions.

Age 20 and 21 are not children and they don't get a pass for being stupid. If the only way they are capable of learning how to interact with society is to be arrested so they can understand the law - then they aren't very bright for sure.

Would you be so forgiving and tolerant if your 5 year old child was killed by one of them losing control of the car and hitting you head-on? Happens around here far too often to be anything but outraged by these two ignorant idiots.

We are going to have to choose to see this differently.

I had this Cano guy pull up next to me on the McKay bridge just last week trying to get me to race him. Drives a black mustang. Was definitely the wrong place and wrong time.

@lana7018 I never said they didn't deserve to be arrested. Please reread my post. Yes they deserved to be arrested, yes they need to have punishment but to flat out call them names is disgusting. How dare you or anyone else on this feed judge others.
Titus 3:2-7
To speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ...

Re-read the original post...changes have been made according to the most recent reports. It also indicates that the information came from precinct 4.

Oh brother, pulling out the bible verses are we? May I suggest you start with a dictionary first.

Selfish : (of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.
Check

Idiot:a stupid person.
Check

Ignorant: lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
and CHECK

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have two winners!

@lana7018 clearly you prefer the dictionary over the bible. There is no point trying to get across to you as you just so blatantly passed judgment on me and know nothing about me. Good day to you.

You seem very adept at passing judgement on others yourself which is pretty much all I know about you so far.

Well, and that you are connected to the two men arrested for drag racing on 1960.

None the less, carry on spreading the good word and judging others.

@thelma2017 I remember when my kids were young and someone picked them up to go to a meeting I met them there, I drove her kids and my kids home! She was drunk and had a plastic cup full of liquor with a shot of coke in it! I do not think I let my kids go over there after that and my kids had no fear of walking if they felt unsafe in a car
