@Smokeybear Fish Tales had a good thing going and no reason to shut down. They were very involved with the community and did lots of advertising . Something went terribly wrong that we don't know about.

@Ladyfairlane i.e. FishtalesThe owner treated employees horribly in front of customers. If an employee makes a bad decision, teach them in the back away from customers. Don't show off in front of the other small business owners who were in your place .Honestly, my impression, Fish Tales owner was an ***, Javaman tries too hard, Vernons, too much of a hard sell (everyone's looking and no ones buying).We liked TaiLi so much (and custom no veges order and literally sometimes 10 minute delivery!) we saddly never tried the higher priced WanFu.

There also used to be a home decor place where Fish Tales was. That had to be at least 15 years ago.

So many businesses peter out within the first two years.

@CelticStorm Oh that's awful ! I agree with you. Never saw that going on because I didn't like that the catfish was frozen. Went 2 times cuz I thought they needed a second chance. Nope!At one time 1/4 of the employees were from the Atascocita theatre dept. and they had all their group meetings there. I never heard anyone complaining about the treatment but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I just know he was very flexible and understanding with the kids' UIL COMP. hours which were grueling .I was thinking maybe rent went up and he refused to pay it and packed up. Still, not cool to be rude in front of customers. Had I seen that, I would have have scolded him in front of his customers!!!😡

What's the new place called where Fish Tails was? BTW...I went to Fish Tails once and was not impressed. The PoBoy seemed a little dry and not much flavor.

I went a couple times to the coffee house thing, neighbors son played in a band so we went for support.
Never cared for Wang **, no pork dishes and hot and sour soup didn't hold a candle to Tai Le, which has always been our favorite out here.Funny story, after we first moved out here we'd been a dozen times or so to Tai Li's. Wife had to got to Tulsa for business. So I took stepdaughter and her son. We set down and the watiress came over(Happy was her name) she put her hands on her hips and said loudly, WHERES YOU WIFE, stepdaughter looks frightenend and said, she is my mother. Happy said ok.

@Bob77346 I see your story...and raise you one... I went to Tai Li to order take out. The wife decided to change what she had told me and I didn't take my phone with me. I got home with the original order and was asked why didn't get what she called in. Didn't know anything about it. The wife said the man said not to worry he would make sure I got home with the right order. Confused I asked where did you call, she said Wang **.....Well there's your problem because I went to Tai Li. big laugh and she ate what I brought home.

Austin's Coffee House was in the Fish Tales spot back in 2001-2003 or so.

One of the waiters from TaiLi kept flirting with me and my daughter said something....so one day we are in Wally World and this guy (waiter)walks up and tries to kiss me.... we quit going for awhile and it has been our go to for Chinese since they opened! After the fire and the sell it hasn't been quite as good but still better than anywhere else around here and I am not driving down to Chinatown for dinner!

We tried this once or twice. The food was just okay and the service was not great.
