Rehab Dr. is much easier to say! I have no idea how to say the name now so I just call it Yucca.

Kid made it harder on himself by doing that last night. Glad they caught up with him. Hopefully, he'll pay his dues and turn into a good citizen down the road.

It's a tough program. He saw a chance and made a poor choice. He's young. I have hope.

That would be nice but It's doubtful because I have seen nothing that shows we rehab . We punish them & when they finish their time & hit the street nothing concerning what got them in to prison has changed . If they were living with their parents likely nothing has changed to help this person on the right path .

Kind of like taking a known alcoholic & getting him a job as a bar tender . I'd think he'd only say no for awhile & then he'd just have just 1 drink . Kinda like me having 1 bowl of ice cream HA!!! fat chance of that happening .

@bbk Gotta have faith. Recidivism is down. Often young kids get in trouble due to their living circumstances. It is not always their fault what they are born into or have exposure to. Plenty have made mistakes and gone on to become very good citizens.

I agree((( a child can't help what they were born into))) But does anything take place in the prison that will help that child from going home & doing the same things all over again ???

That was my point in my first post here . Prison punishes them & doesn't rehab them .

If your a druggie & you go back into your home where your mother is drugged up & your dad just stays drunk what chances does this kid have of not repeating his same mistakes ?? He is right back in the same environment . I think I saw somewhere we have more people in prison than any other country in the world .

The state can only do so much... Jesus changes the heart... the church not the state needs to step it up

@Hwyten

Wow you are so right about that . The church could do so much for some of these kids .I think there are kids out there that all they need is some guidance or maybe someone to sit down & help them with home work .Someone to care & that wants to see them thrive .
