@Ashley0126 You can call A&M and tell them your situation. They may take Apollo on for his care.

@ladybeachbum I don't know anything about this service - but if they are considered stray since SPCA is a shelter my questions would be:
1. Response time 2. Would they give dog back to owner 3. Fees 4. If dog was badly injured would they put down and owner would never know
( that's why it's important to chip)
Have to remember shelters are so over crowded you literally have 3 days to locate animal before they can euthanize!

Ok...I have to ask and hope to get an answer. Has this dog been suffering for a week+ with a broken jaw, bleeding from the nose/mouth with no treatment because of no funds? And alleged broken bones that have been secured with nothing but gauze?

I want nothing but the best outcome for this dog, but I'm concerned for his well being and care.

Please verify with the 494 vet providing care before donating funds (I'm not discouraging donating, btw). And inquire what happens to your funds if he gets released and referred to a specialist, specifically re: the broken jaw.

Hoping for the best for Apollo.

@Tuckersmom When our husky was lost someone took him or maybe the ambulance was called to pick him up. He had a tag and they called the next morning and said he was there. By the time we got there the voluntary vet on duty had done the surgery they said he would need. I thought I would be paying thousands and much to my surprise they only charge a daily rate no matter what is done. I think it was $15. Donations are okay later but right then all they wanted was their daily rate. The vet said they could tell he was loved even though they had to muzzle him. He was bitey before but settled down. He looked absolutely like he had been beat the hell up but was up and going soon after. We were so happy to find him, I would have paid whatever. I am just thinking they might have a program that would work for Ashley. I have been looking for medical sources every break I have.

The vet just called be back and I spoke directly with her. She said Apollo has a broken jaw but it could possibly be managed without surgery. He has broken teeth that need to be pulled that are rubbing, and can't close his mouth. Needs to eat soft food only. She wants to X Ray his front Left leg area, because it's broken at some point. She can't say where unless it's X rayed. She said it would be ideal to X Ray jaw and leg in one sedated swoop. She needs prob around 4-6 X-rays total. ( 4=$198.50 each extra $40) his lacerations she didn't look at cause she didn't remove the bandages but looked clean and she didn't think they were a huge concern. The leg then jaw was what she was worried about!

@Tuckersmom

So, Apollo needs $278.50 right now to determine the course of treatment for the jaw, teeth and broken leg. Is there no office visit fee at this point?

@Ashley0126 Do you want to proceed with this treatment if the funds are donated to the vet?

Yes yall are amazing. She did not mention anything to me about his leg being broken..maybe they felt I wasn't concerned because of my affect. But yes I will do everything that needs to be done. Sorry for late responses, I took the kids to the humble parade

@Sammee The vet said she would not charge another office visit fee-
$198.50 - 4 X rays
$43.00- sedation
$80.00 - possibly 2 more X rays
________
$321.50
That can give or take by 2 X rays @$40 each. Since leg and jaw need X rays both
I don't have any clue as to cost yet about teeth pulling or what surgery cost could be.
Yes Apollo has a poss broken Left Front leg. She was concerned about.
Ashley you need to figure out if this is paid for as in X rays- how are you going to afford the treatment further. Which could poss be $1000+ easily if surgery is needed.

No one do anything yet. I may be giving him to a home that can get him what he needs. My heart hurts but it hurts worse watching him suffer

The best thing we can do right now is pray for Apollo's recovery and for Ashley that loves her dog but can not afford the high cost of getting him back to normal. We need to all flash back to 25 and think if we could have afforded expensive treatment for our pets. She has someone that can and she just needs to work it all out.

@ladybeachbum I remember when my hubby & I got our first dog 9 months after we got married. (We had both grown up with dogs.) My father told us a dog was a luxury not a nessessity. I don't think we could have afforded a large vet bill at the time.

I will pray she makes the best decision for both her & Apollo. I know whatever she decides will not be easy.
