What in the world do you do for him in the meantime with a broken jaw? What about his other broken bones?

I just spoke to my vet and he charges $140-$230 depending on how many pics is needed. Also a broken jaw most likely will need to be surgically fixed. Can Apollo currently eat and drink? I was told SNAP does X rays also and they are low cost. I wouldn't think a broken anything would need to sit and wait around to fix!

@Ashley0126 I will put your story out to all the rescues and animal people I know to call the vet and donate - not that you want to hear this but you need to have a plan B for this dog! Even if you get donations - if he needs to have surgery you're looking at quite a large amt! He needs attention ASAP! even with pain meds no one wants Apollo suffering!

She didn't give me a price but the total for meds and exam was 79$ and the tech covered the pain meds cause I only had 63$. And he just drank a whole bowl of water Emoticon

The vet didn't give you an amount she would charge for X Rays to be done for Apollo?

@Ashley0126 Ok I have called the vet - she charges $42.50 to sedate dog for X rays - and between $119.50- $199 for X rays - she is calling me back at 6 to discuss what needs to be done after that as to fixing w surgery and costs and weather it's something that has to be done ASAP w surgery or other possibilities of there are any options.

I was just getting on to ask for the Vet's number. IMO, Ashley is young and has her handsful with a baby and a 5 year old so probably is like my son and comes away without asking all the questions and when you are young you can be shy around doctors/vets.

Something to remember. The SPCA has a 24 hour emergency ambulance for lost and stray dogs. Had the finders of Apollo called he would have gotten immediate help.

24-Hour Injured Stray Animal Rescue Ambulance, call 713-869-SPCA (7722) seven days a week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. After hours and holidays, please call 713-880-HELP (4357).
