1) Yes, it is divided. But, why? I feel that it is because of the way the Dems handled this (and other) legislation. Ramming something down a person (or party's) throat only creates divide, between Congresspeople and also between the voters they represent. If the Dems had worked the system, done their politicking, and gotten a few votes from the Repubs, there would not be such a divide. If you were to ask those who reported that they "Disapprove/Oppose" the legislation WHY they "Disapprove/Oppose" of this legislation, I am sure that you will get an fair number that say it is because it was shoved down our throats. If you get some Repubs on board with the vote, (which would mean compromise) then they too would be out selling the legislation that THEY voted for to their constituents. All you have now is a situtation where the Repubs are running around bad-mouthing it - which has lead to much of the division. If you want to say the sky is blue, but by agreeing to say it is "azure" or "sapphire" or "ice-blue" and you can get more people to agree with you by doing so, then maybe you have to look in the mirror to see who is the one that is refusing to compromise and creating the adversarial environment. The goal of the Congress is to do what is best for the country and to please as many people as possible while doing so.
2) As I said, Obamacare has some good points. This is one. But, what about the tax problem that is brewing and will come to a head next spring? (See HERE). Are we just going to forgive this debt and drive the country into deeper debt? What about the 5.7 million Americans that live in states that do not have to expand Medicaid and leaving them with no insurance? See what The New York Times had to say here. There are good parts and bad parts to Obamacare. If this legislation had been properly vetted, some or maybe all of these bad things could have been avoided. 3) Maybe she will. I hope so. I hope that she is smart enough to work the system the way the system was intended to work, and has worked for over 200 years. Unless your "bombshell" is that she intends to have herself elected "President for Life", like Hugo Chavez did, she is going to have to work the system. And soon, people are going to get tired of "Well, she tried!" 4) Republican plan for immigration reform, see Here and a nice article on the differences between the parties on a variety of subjects Here, including immigration..
