My PSA: After working in the chronic pain field for over a dozen years, I feel compelled to say that flip flops have zero support and are horrible for your feet, knees, hips, and vertebra. Our shoes are the support for our entire bodily structure. We wouldn't knowingly put bad tires on our vehicles because it would damage the structure. Bad shoes have the same effect on our bodies. Sorry, ladies!

@Sammee Uh oh. May be part of my problem then. I even wear dress sandals to work every day. Any closed toe shoe hurts my feet.

@jdclowney They are still in business and still make these, only better than they were in the '80's.

I think I've seen the Fitflop brand at DSW Shoe Warehouse in Humble. You might try them just to see if you like the fit before ordering...

I never found fit flops to be all that comfy. I only tried them though way back when they first came out, they may be more comfy now.

It's funny, I used to be a die hard flip flop wearer. I never really wore sneakers til I went to work where I work now. I've gotten so used to sneaker support that flip flops kill my feet now when I wear them for a long period.

They are much prettier than the Tone Ups! They stopped making them because of many law suits of injuries. I was wearing the running shoes and the flips and ended up with really horrible pain just all of a sudden one day. The only thing I could relate it to was the Skechers. I stopped wearing them when I read the reviews. I have about 4 pairs but won't wear the running shoes but still will occasionally wear the flip flops and have no problem with them. They look kind of bad but they are comfortable. I live in flips!

"In the beginning my feet didn't sweat like they did towards the end. I think maybe they changed material or something."

@lynnsgirl -- I agree. They must have changed something because I would wear them and my feet would feel so gross. I had 4 - 5 pairs and took them all to Goodwill.
