@nikkiole : there really isn't any economical way for everyday people to do this. You need a job first in most instances. Such as Canada, if you have no family ties, it's pretty near impossible.

@nikkiole : also you'd have to renounce your citizenship too as Uncle Sam's IRS comes calling for your earnings still.

If younger , I would consider Canada - BC For a young person of child bearing age, might consider using one of the birthing centers in Canada to have dual citizenship. Although really not sure how this works.

I've looked into both retiring and running my business from Costa Rica and a cpl other Tropical places. They say you can live pretty good for 3k or so a mth, but once you start looking into it it's not as glamorous as it seems, most come home within the first year. It's very much so inland (by the coast is expensive), dirt roads, no fresh meat/seafood/water etc, healthcare sux, and on and on.
It's not really an option for someone like me (unless I win the lottery) who likes his nice place to live, ac, cable, rib eyes, Miller Lite, JW and JD, and so on. Not ready to give up what we take for granted here to live.
Guess I'm stuck in the best Country in the World, which is OK to me.

People tranfer overseas with many companies. I think it would be fun to live overseas. My parents lived in Indonesia for 3 yrs. We were able to go & visit. All paid for by the company. My brother also has lived overseas, in a few different countries.
