If he as an adult or even a person old enough to drive thinks it's OK to be ugly & rude to you like he was , then his teachings growing up likely weren't what they should of been . Just because maybe he is having a bad day doesn't give him the right to take it out on others . But yelling back at him or responding ugly isn't the thing to do . 2 wrongs will never make it right ! You have no idea what the person in the other car is like or capable of . No idea if their just itching to find an excuse to pull their gun & shoot you . Is it really worth becoming ugly or aggressive back to this type person ?

@bbk : If I'm the target of an angry idiot's behavior and I've done absolutely nothing to provoke his/her behavior, I'd ignore and leave the scene. This bully however, did not stop his screaming threats as I drove away. Thats when I decided to stand up for myself and let him know I was not intimidated.
Bullies will always persist with their hostile treatment of others if never confronted. Keep giving them a pass, and in their warped evil minds, they become more powerful. I will not contribute to that and enable them to easily bully their next victim.
For evil to prosper, it takes good people doing nothing.
I will also always politely make handicap parking space violators aware of their wrongdoing.

@ChloeW : Couple of things not directed at necessarily at you.My first job was in retail - in the deli at Randall's. You remembered the nice regulars, and those that were not so nice. And then there was that middle of the line folks.And depending on your history with me, (you may not remember but I do, because even when you're an ***, I can't put you in your place because I do like my job), I understand you may be having a bad day. But when you're an ******** everytime you come in, don't expect me to go over and beyond.On the flip side, if you are inundated with ****** every day, you end up salty even to the ones that accidentally cut you off/pulled out in front of you.Most road rage, IMHO, is not about the action that just occurred, but where that person who felt wronged is during that hour, day, time in their life.

@CelticStorm : Ok then....not that you've gotten that out of your system...maybe brush up on your reading comprehension skills, and don't interject your own personal experience issues into a completely, totally, non-related event with one angry, hostile, entitled driver threatening a blameless, patient driver behind him, whom he decided to take out all his aggressions by aiming his vehicle and his vulgar mouth in her direction.
End of story.

Some people have a persecution complex. It allows them to deflect to others and avoid taking responsibility for their own behaviors, perceptions, etc.

I like to buy and extra dozen eggs and just randomly chuck them at people's cars on my way out.
It works better if the owner is there to witness it.
Always plenty of people willing to participate in fight club after that.jk :D
