Didn't know that they charged extra! Disappointing!

@FenderBass : I agree it is the principle. It is ridiculous to charge a dollar for 1/4 cup of sauce. Especially if they do not let you know when you order there will be a charge.

@ladybeachbum : I always hate it when I got to a restaurant and the server asks if I want something else (For example, would you like sauteed spinach with your meal or whatever) but fail to mention there is an up charge for it.

Italianos is probably the best priced good Italian food. I've never ordered extra sauce, but I wouldn't care if they charged me for it. Their lunch specials are the best value around, the owners and staff are always very nice, and they give back to the community. I will always have their back.

@Littlegoo : Ok so we marinated chicken in their red sauce. Omg it was good! We bought a tub of it one time! We used to eat there all the time! I love it there!

@Weathergirl5 : I usually get asparagus at Chili's but they always tell me it's $1 extra. It's better for me than the fries so okay! My son gets the field corn or something like that and it is extra, also. We usually eat off the 3 for $10 so it doesn't matter. I've slowed down eating out lately though.

@Littlegoo : I agree. Even if they charge something for the sauce it is still the best around.

@ladybeachbum : As long as they tell me ahead of time there is an up charge I'm ok. Then I can either agree and order it or get something else. But it's the shady ones who try to push a more expensive offering without telling me it will cost extra. That pisses me off. As a former server I always informed people if there was an up charge. But I worked with servers who purposely tried to up charge their customers to get the bill higher to get a bigger tip. I got news for you if a server did that to me I'd question them about it when the bill came. And if I felt they were trying to take advantage of me it would come out if their tip.

@Weathergirl5 : Carrabba's has some hidden charges that no one says but by now we know. The last time, about two weeks ago, we went and the food was so bad we've taken it off our list and the sides are the reason. If they tell me, then, it's okay if I agree.

I guess I'm the odd guy out. I don't get Italiano's at all other than that it's a lot of food and cheap. 🤷‍♀️

@ladybeachbum : How funny!! Carrabbas was actually the place I worked when I said the comment about working with servers who purposely up charge to get the bill higher to get a better tip! It runs rampant there. And IMO the food quality has gone way down hill over the past several years. It's sad but true.

@brightlights : I like their lasagna but that is about it.

@Weathergirl5 : It used to be my favorite place but the sides are just nasty. How could they mess up mashed potatoes? I ordered that AFTER the broccoli was so overcooked it tasted like 3 days old. My favorite salad, the Mediterranean, was totally not the same. (it's not on the menu and I usually have to text my son with "what's that salad here that isn't on the menu". I used to order a double salad because I didn't like the other options. Maybe, I am just tired of expensive food that doesn't taste good!

Just keep bringing those those Garlic Knots and everything will be A Okay.

And the house dressing. Jeez its good. I can buy that by the bucket.
