I have now visited about a half dozen Italian restaurant North of Beltway 8. It appears Italiano's is the ONLY place that charges extra for a little extra red sauce.

It's interesting because most of Italiano's dishes using red sauces are very lacking on the sauce, almost dry. So they are setting you up. They serve something the requires additional sauce and then when you ask for it, they charge you extra.

Go figure.....

@FenderBass : I hate it when Italian restaurants are stingy on the red sauce too. I never knew they charged for their sauce. Good to know.

I've never thought they were lacking in the sauce department on any dish. I find it strange that they charge for a little extra.

@Sammee : Right and they only bring you a small ramekin of sauce, maybe a 1/4 of a cup and charge a dollar or whatever for it...But I like it saucy!!!

@FenderBass :
That's strange. I order the pans of Lasagna frequently and they stick a decent size bowl of red sauce in there that nobody needs for the lasagna, but we use it to dip the rolls in, then stick it in the fridge to mix with some pasta at a later date.
We also dine in a cpl times a week after golf, I've never needed any add'l sauce there but if I did I prolly wouldn't mind paying for it, as Ive eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants too and haven't found any I can get a great Fettuccine Alfredo and a cpl beers for under $20. It's our go-to restaurant.
How much was the charge?

@Weathergirl5 :
Get at least 1/2 a pan and they give you a good size bowl of it, I think 1/2 of pan is like $40 but don't quote me on it.

I would have to suggest in Atascocita location when you order ask for it extra saucy.... if it does nt come how you like it , ask for Jimmy and he will almost surely accommodate your preferences. They truly want you to leave happy, they are my go to also.

I have always been happy with the food from Italiano's..
I guess I'm not an extra saucy type of person...

I can't find reason to complain about Italiano's they seem to be the best bang for the buck among the local Italian eateries.

@FenderBass : We eat there often and I always ask for extra sauce and haven't been charged. I hope this isn't anything new.

@ladybeachbum : we have eaten there almost weekly since opened the Atascocita location. They started charging about 2 months ago. I can afford a buck, it's the principle.

@FenderBass : I guess I haven't asked for extra sauce lately. How much are they charging?

@FenderBass : Or DH is just paying it and doesn't care. I'd be ticked if they didn't say they were charging.
