My kids are grown but when they were little I always got up and did breakfast- though not the whole bacon, waffles French toast BS- way too much salt and sugar. Oatmeal - yes, plain yogurt and fruit- yes- eggs- yes.
Now that I'm getting older- I'm not hungry in the AM- so I don't eat breakfast every day BUT if there's a workout early AM here are my go to(s)
9 grain bread toasted- 1/2 oz of Brie cheese and 1/2 c of blueberries
Or
6oz of Chobani Greek yogurt with 1/2 c of blueberries
Or
6 oz of Chobani yogurt-1/3 c of uncooked whole grain oatmeal with 1/2 c blueberries ( for long training rides)
Or
A smoothie-3 c spinach , 1/4 c strawberries, 1/4 c blueberries , 1/2 c Acai ( no sugar added) juice and 2 T of EAS whey protein powder
If I ate bacon and waffles/ pancakes/ French toast I would have to take a major nap about 8 AM
My "sugar"/carbs comes in raw fruit form and my protein comes in Greek yogurt or protein whey- sometimes I will di scrambled egg whites and spinach with a little cheddar cheese. That's mor of an occasional Sun AM or holiday breqkfast
Back in the day I loved bacon and waffles smothered in real maple syrup- but this old body just can't run on that junk now
