Awesome.....and then what happened? Any arrests? Gonna guess no.

Perhaps he was looking for trees to be cut, but you are smarter than that, right?

I get about 5 cards left on my door a month regarding the 70 ft pine leaning at 5degrees. Must be casing my joint......and leaving a card. Please.

@Clydepuckett :
It's real easy to be smarter than that when you catch one of the guys looking into a window . No tree INSIDE her house ! And they had a rake & broom sticking out the car window hardly a chain saw . And that I know of nothing happened . But perhaps they decided to move to a different area because they knew I had pictures of them . I don't know if they saw I got the license plate or not . The thing is other than seeing one look into my neighbors house they did nothing because I went out so fast they didn't have time . I was afraid they would go to Kingwood, Eagle Springs or somewhere else out here . When I phoned I told them I had pictures I could email to them or the officers could come buy my house . I spoke with Sargent Lekus & another officer who both fussed at me that I was going to get killed to not do that again.Except for the camera I was holding I had nothing they wanted . I was wearing a big moo moo over my night gown .Why would they shoot me in the street & take a chance of being seen & caught for nothing more than a camera ?Yes some may I guess , I'm just not afraid .

On further review, this would have me going into action as well....

. I then saw a guy looking into my neighbors house across the street from me

I've no problem with diligence. I do have a problem with paranoid people.
My heavens.....he might be selling something. Those will likely be the first people to ***** that no one would wait on them in a store.

****edit***+ we posted about the same time....I get it.
But I think this a red herring against "solicitors"

I wouldn't say I'm paranoid. I'm cautious and always try to be aware of my surroundings. I wasn't brought up to have that "it can never happen to me" attitude. I've put all measures into place that I feel I need and that's it. I have a no soliciting sign, and AW does not allow solicitors. Of course no way to enforce it either. It's just irritating when I get my little one down for a nap and someone knocks even though right in the middle of the door it says NO SOLICITING. That sets off the pups and wakes the baby. Then they try to sell me a security system which I already have, and have signs for in the yard.

I caught a guy digging through my neighbors trash about 5 or 5:30 in the morning . To dark for me to see him or the license plate . By the time I went for the phone he had driven off . But I told her about it . She laid low for him & one morning she caught him . She pitched a fit to him that when he touched her trash bag it was sitting in her yard & is her property !!!! It was not sitting in the street & if he ever came back she'd call the police on him ., & she made him put it back in her yard .He has not come back . She said he almost jumped out of his skin when she told him to get out of her trash & her yard . She was smart because she didn't come out the front door . She came down her driveway behind him . There use to be 2 different white trucks that came down our street picking stuff up & hauling it off . But the white truck that was at her house was for positive looking at scraps of paper . Her & I no longer put our trash out the night before . Both of us just wait till about 8 to put it out .

Sort of correct......except for some industries specified in the Texas Code, most door sale or peddlers might have to have a paid permit and abide by local ordinances in a city. Without it, it's totally enforcilble in a city....we aren't in a city. That's mostly a good thing"....this is just one small bad thing.

So, yeah, no way to enforce it out here in rural Harris County.

Nice bluff.......the law is not on your side here slim......

So, a no longer useful lampshade should, by proclamation, go to the landfill.."....

Why would the reclaim guys getting ahead of the landfill stuffers bother you?

Very true, and tried multiple times in Texas courts.

@bbk and her neighbor are well within their rights to hold off on curbing the garbage to the morning. In my lowly hood, the Gmen show up at 7:30 sometimes......the leftover crawfish will stink for four more days if I'm late. I don't have anything in my garbage worth living with that......maybe we could burn it in drums the country way..."..j/k...". Of course landfills suck too.......quite the conundrum we've created.

If it's that valuable, why put it out there.? Paranoia........they have physicians for that.

Reviewing this thread, you expounded/deflected but didn't answer my question regarding this hypothetical situation.....

BTW, what do you all do if approached by one of these rogue, zombie door knockers if you are " gasp" outside in the yard?

So a nice looking lady with a clipboard ( a terrorist according to some here) approaches you while hand watering your prize pine tree........your response? Spray her with water? Pull your piece? Call the non existent constables (according to some, not pointing fingers)? Scream stranger danger?

Question is before the house, not solely addressed to @bbk.......cuz she would draw down, I got that.

I feel the same as you when I read posts like this. I walk through downtown Houston in the dark daily and have less fear.

@Blackhorse77 AW does have signs out saying No Soliciting but last summer I was in the front yard cleaning flowerbeds when two ladies walked up to me, wanting to talk to me about church and hand out flyers which I know isn't a big deal but to me that's still soliciting. When I mentioned there were signs posted saying No Soliciting, her reply that's ok I live in AW. So my comment is just because you live in the hood doesn't mean the signs don't apply to you. On another note if I'm interested in your church I'll look you up so don't come looking for me.
