It has been EXCEEDINGLY difficult for me to refrain from commenting on my Facebook friends status regarding this matter. I have absolutely no problem with Beyoncé having her own stance & supporting her own race & heritage- that's a beautiful thing! But the Super Bowl wasn't the time or place for that song IMO. Would it have been cool with everyone if a white country performer sang about taking pride in their confederate country roots during a halftime Super Bowl show? Hell no! People would be up in arms & that's just how it is. It's one thing if it's a concert or an event catered to a group of people who are on the same page as her & what she's singing about, but a melting pot of *families* watching the super bowl wasn't the appropriate platform for that song or performance IMO. Not to mention the fact that her all black, no whites allowed back up dancers were wearing black panther tribute outfits was essentially the equivalent of all white back up dancers wearing KKK hoods & robes as well. Defend her video any way you'd like, but I have zero respect for anyone who disrespects our law enforcement in anyway, shape, or form. Ask any officer what they think about it & I guarantee they won't take it lightly. Instead of the BS she put in her excuse of a video, why not empower people by singing the importance of education & bettering oneself to come out on top rather than "sippin quervo & goin off"?!? Yet she says cops are the problem... #ALLlivesmatter. COPS TOO! I sincerely hope that some of her fans stop drinking her kool aid after that performance & realize what she's been feeding them all this time.
@West-Tex I know it's been a while since I've been active so I don't know how things have changed in the meantime, but we're all grownups so I hope that's not the case. (Hiiii Jooooe) 😁
