#msg2214333brightlights : As I said before, the money will come from the "rainy day fund" which is sitting on a billion dollars from what I heard and doing nothing for Texans.

AMCLady :

(A.) The funds just sprouted out of nowhere. ❌️

(B.) Abolish the ESF and return the money back to taxpayers. ✅️

#msg2214322I've not heard good things from other states that have vouchers.

AMCLady : This is true.

In these states, public schools have suffered due to the funding cut, and the private schools are getting more per student than the public schools do.

It averages to about 80+% already were able to afford the Private School.

Then private School rates increased to maximize voucher deaw. It's creating a crisis and the kids are suffering.

Instead of giving us $1,500 I would rather she do what Abbott wanted where every local property tax increase would have to be approved by at least two-thirds of voters before taking effect.

Atascocita888 : 2/3 would never vote. No matter how much it was needed or shown that it was needed. That type of situation would absolutely run the state in the counties and the local governments into the ground very quickly and you would lose emergency services and all infrastructure maintenance.

That's why they only talked about it for years. They were actually smart enough to know that it wouldn't work but it got people riled up that didn't know better.

ParksideRes : You do understand he is talking about only if they are going to increase property taxes by a large % right? If they are going to raise is like they have done in the past they would not need to get voter approval.

Atascocita888 : That's not what I've taken from these talks the last couple of years. They've always framed it as any increase, I'll go take a look.
