However, he and the Democrats lost the public relations/culture war on the issue. That's was one determining factor why 47 is back in office. In addition to the fact, a great many Americans have very short attention spans.

Yes, there is and the golf course has been there for years. Trump is not saftisfied with the way it is and is making it into what he calls a champion golf course. So a bunch of cherry trees were chopped down without any permission. Washington D.C. has lots of golf courses around in Maryland and Virginia. No need to tear up Washington.

@rocket1 : You are correct in that there was no "policy". However, what happened none the less produced an immigration system that was permissive enough that millions of people crossed into the US. As far as that humane thing you throw out there. It is the Presidents job to protect the people of the US. Not to let every person come into the US. Not to give every person asylum, a job, a house to live in, school, medicine and doctors, food and so forth. There is a legal way to come into this country. That should be the only way. Those who come in should be able to support themselves without taking from a US citizen what is rightfully theirs. A President should be humane to the people who are citizens and paying taxes and living the American dream. If you want that dream…come in the legal way.

They were cleaning up their act during the last year of by his administration if you were paying attention. I'm definitely not for ice going to certain cities and threatening people as they look for illegals. They don't seem to be interested in getting just the criminals. My post was not about immigration. My post is about my home city being torn up for no reason at all. Washington DC was beautiful. Yes, certain things needed to be attended to but not torn down. Unfortunately, it's going to be the next administration that has to clean it all up. And they will never be able to replace those cherry trees. That's just nuts to cut those trees down. Trump worries about vandalism. He's the worst vandal there is. I feel bad for the Kennedys. I was a senior in high school with Kennedy was shot and killed and since he and Jackie both love the arts, the Kennedy center was an excellent way of honoring both of them. Let the people fix it. It doesn't belong to Trump.
