In the 80s we had 18 carrier groups to rotate now we have 11. There will always be @ 4 in deep repair, leaving few to deploy, and causing normal cruise length to jump from 6 months to close to a year
Life on board a ship consists of 12 hour shifts, plus some overlap 7 days a week with no weekend or breaks.
You never see the light of day unless you work the flight deck, which is a very small percent of crew.
Sailors live for liberty, knowing when they are getting home, and stability in knowledge of purpose.

Food on board has always sucked, but it sounds like Iran scored a home run with the bombing of our supply base/resources in bahrain
Now, we cannot supply ships with consumables in the war region without them rotting before delivery
Food and war supplies have priority, food is a distant second to bombs.
So no personal mail or care packages getting through, nor normal stores supplies (deodorant, toothpaste, women's hygiene products, etcetera)
Then the president came out last night and called them all suckers and losers for complaining.
Prayers for our servicemembers and the sacrifices they and their families make for our country daily.
