Why would they say those words? #msg2191801

@Wanderer :

You can boil down the fight against ACA not simply to the policies, but the Republican Mandated obstruction called for before Obama even took the oath in Jan 2009.

From Voinovich we know the pact from Republicans and by the 2010 midterms it had gone full public display.

But why? things get fixed if there is a major problem.

@Wanderer : not in this case. It originally fixed a problem for 10s of millions and subsequently was castrated to make new problems. Naturally those new problems were pinned on those who didn't make the changes.

Healthcare is not the forte of the Republican party. Their counties and states consistently rank the lowest for health and life expectancy.

@Wanderer : I guess pushing for affordable medical access for all is too much for you.

Poor people should just accept they can't use the healthcare system?

No I want some test proven system and not some experiments leading to failures.

@Wanderer : Well, we did.

ACA lead to better health outcomes amongst lower income people. That's good! That's measurable.

Then the Republican clawback came over the past 10 years. Dismantle, defund, dissolve pieces of it. It's all really just jealousy as they e never been able to properly think of a system of they're own.

It's the reason they needed a nickname for ACA. They spent hours together to form a name. Obamacare.

While scores or poor rural people enjoyed their newfound healthcare plans under ACA, they derided the "socialist" Obamacare as the enemy of the people.

"How dare the poor demand healthcare".

And now I'll ask this question: What has the Republican party proposed to do better or replace it with the last 16 years?

It's a very easy answer.

How dare someone care about people's health in places like this.

If it was great then why did top people sought waivers in the beginning of ACA? Something does not add up. This is the problem.

@Wanderer : top earners qualified for waivers based on income. If you had enough income to cover yourself medically then you could get a waiver.

It's the same for car insurance, if you can demonstrate that you have enough money to basically cover tens to hundreds of thousands in damages and claims, then you can be exempt from car insurance.

ParksideRes : Cool maybe you can learn from this and eat right. #msg2192051

@Wanderer : I can for the most part. But in a lot of these states there are food deserts where people can't get enough nutritious food and all they can afford or even get to is convenience stores.

But trying to help them out to give them nutritious food and medical care is appalling to you.

@Wanderer : And sometimes it's difficult to even get nutritious food that's not highly processed, depending on where you live.

And what place is this? I have been to many places around the Country and I can say nutritious food is what you make of it.
