I am shocked at so many people on this board cowering and saying why make this movie in the first place! How about, because we have the constitutional right to make anything we want. Great, good, or trash. It doesn't matter what it is or who likes it or doesn't like it, the right to make it is what makes this country ours. What's next? Why make westerns with Indians in them, that's offensive to them. Why write books that are less than flattering to people, that's offensive to them. Why do we allow protestors to burn the flag, that's offensive. If I saw someone burning an American flag I know they have the right to, and that is the only reason they don't get smacked in the face. When you allow someone, anyone, to make a decision on what is acceptable ands what isn't based on who it is going to offend, then everything becomes suspect and up for discussion and elimination. You folks are contributing to the demise of this country one piece at a time.
Offensive pro football names led to the removal of high school mascots and team names that have been around for generations. When the hell did it become a crime, or a major social event, when someone - anyone becomes offended! This is going to get out of control and everything will be bland, boring, uneventful, and we will be controlled at the will of the one person in charge - for the good of the people. This is how it starts folks.
Sony's answer should have been, **** off North Korea, and the government should have stated clearly that if one thing happens we will bomb your **** back into the stone age. I will leave this conversation with this tried and true quote;
Weakness is provocative. It encourages others to act in ways they normally would not.
