Is there any question that this woman should have remained the Travis Co DA for one more day after this display? Anyone with any self respect and respect for the position they hold, would have resigned the following morning.

no doubt - but is it in Perry's authority to use coercion to force her out? Or is it illegal - or just a convenient tactic to put a halt to ethics investigations?

Has he ever tried to force others to resign for illegal activity in the past?
