It's way too hot outside. Passed by BB about 12:30 and there was only 2 cars in line. I really wanted to pull in but was in the wrong lane and by the time I got where I could turn around - the moment had passed me by.@moomaw

Could one of y'all get one of our Misfit Minions to run down and pick me up a Blue Coconut. I'm getting on steamed up on the pageant thread and need to doctor up a beverage and chill out!

@MooMaw: Ummmm....well it's meh. Edible. But I don't love it.

I cooked red beans and rice with sausage today. I found jolokia peppers at HEB. I chopped up and threw the smallest one in the pot. Steer clear away from that pepper. It's no joke and I love spicy food.

@abisho1: We are on the same track. I cooked cranberry beans with Jalapeno sausage, hamburger meat and potatoes in it. (We call it "Red Bean Stew".)Made some jalapeno/cheese cornbread to go with it and the combination of the peppers in the sausage and the cornbread mixed together are almost too spicy for me to eat. (DH is diggin it though....)

@abisho1: LOVE Jolokia peppers! Was excited to see them at HEB last week! Like Ghost Peppers, nothing to mess around with, but YUM (i can handle a freakishly amount of heat)! Made roasted salsa with them. Makes you sweat. Will have to try in red beans/rice.

Upstate Louisiana is different from south of I-10 Louisiana. As long as you enjoyed it and had a good time, what else matters?

The boys are off fishing so only hubby has tried. He said "pretty good" but I know he was upset there were veggies visible. Picky.I also made a veggie soup and fideo. This is how I cook, in spurts. I won't cook again for 2 weeks probably. Lol!

@abisho1: Many also put boiled eggs in their gumbo . I've got one of my friends that puts a dozen boiled eggs & swears they all fight over the eggs . Some in my family put potato salad in their gumbo bowl but I like it on the side .
