40 hours a week is a CAKE WALK!!!!!

TB505 - Seeing poverty is not the issue. We have all seen poverty.

Doing whatever is required to not be poor is the issue. Some are unwilling to make sacrifices.

I am sure my story is not extremely unique. My grand parents were very poor and made huge sacrifices to not stay poor. My parents were very poor and made huge sacrifices to not stay poor. I was never poor but not given a free ride either. Worked manual labor jobs for many years before and after HS.

How about 52 hours straight - never left the rig floor. 126 hours in a week WORKING in a dangerous environment with explosives and radioactive tools. Struggled and sacrificed working multiple jobs at points to make ends meet.
I started working very young and haven't stopped yet. (thank you God!)

I quit a well paying job and took a job for much less pay but a regular 40 hour work week as it would be possible to go to school at nights and I completed college at 29. Sacrifices have proven to be very well worth the investment.(thank you God!)

I sacrificed (not a big as grand parents or parents) and invested in my education and skills helps to insure against being poor and to provide a better life for my family. As long as our society does not crumble.

If we do get to WROL/SHTF scenario - I have invested in surviving too.

I am sure we all have our stories of past generations and our own efforts. I worked night shift at a hospital, carried 18 semester hours, and made military drills, with a 3 year old and a pregnant wife. wonder sometimes how we did it.

However, having this same drive , if I lived in poverty in Central America or Mexico, I would be attempting to enter the US also. Look at the stats in places like Honduras and I can see why these teenagers are coming.
Like every immigrant who ever came to America, they are looking for opportunity.

Mind your own business.....

You got a problem with it.....

Perhaps you should get your lazy *** off the couch and get a job and help support these illegals

@macdaddy:

I am off the couch, as I mentioned earlier - work three days a week, get benefits, five weeks vacation and excellent pay. When you can get your job done in three days, why work any more? So not lazy, just focused and efficient.

I wouldn't.... I believe in self reliability and hard work ...... Never taken a handout never needed one....
I was raised right ......

@macdaddy:

Did your grandparents , parents , or yourself ever call a cardboard box home ? A friend & I 42 yrs ago walked across the border into Tijuana Mexico to shop & in a dry river bottom I saw families living in cardboard boxes . She had warned me of what I'd see, & told me to not give the children a penny because they will not go away, they just beg & beg . It is people like these that come here for opportunity of working , not a hand out .Are there some bad ones, & lazy ones coming across, of course I'm sure there are some . As a hole I believe most just want a job to raise their family .

As I've said before if they could make a living in their own country I am sure they would prefer to not risk their life to come here . How many have you heard of that died trying to get here ? Remember that 18 wheeler that had a bunch in the back & it was July I think ,with some kids also & they died because it got so hot in there .

If they want a better life they need to fight the corruption in their own country.... Fight to make it better.....
But why when the can come over here and empty the coffers of the U S taxpayer...,,

If they ain't will to change the corruption there why should we reward them for breaking our laws?

Liberal thinking is completely backwards IMO

Presently, zero, as I am studying for the bar. Let me pass the bar next month then I will have to get the market rate for entry - level attorneys. I'm thinking conservatively, and I have a desire to lean towards domestic relations (family law), but Oil and Gas is my target.

No , more than the corruption the opportunity is not there . What liberal thinking are you talking about ? That I am capable of understanding just a little of WHY these people come here, MAKES ME LIBERAL ???? That I give a damn about another human being, makes me LIBERAL ???? You appear to not care about anyone except YOURSELF . I'm done with this subject .

You missed the point and are wrong again....

I know why these people come here and with an admin opening the borders like they have I don't blame them.....

IT IS NOT SUSTAINABLE !!!!!! When is enough , enough!!!!

Sorry , I care.... But I don't have a bleeding heart !!!

Say what you want.....

If the govt said you had to write a check to cover the costs for this open border, I imagine you would think differently

@macdaddy:
Your 2nd sentence with an administration opening the borders like they have I don't blame them . Really ?? Because 18 members of the Republican Party have served as president , governing for 88years in total . And 15 members of the Democratic Party have served as president , governing for a total of 85 yrs . So which group had the most amount of time in Washington to fix this problem ????And I already about 10 days ago said we need strong talks with the leaders of these countries & if they need help lets help & put a stop to all these entries . If we have to drop bombs on the cartels lets do it .I believe they run these countries . The average Mexican person is not the problem I don't think .
