I usually work 12 to 13 hours a day working a rotating schedule so I do not get set days off with hours changing every biweekly.

@cbp210:

Where do you work? What profession ?

Mac that is sooo unfair

You should file a grievance and explain to your boss that it is sooo unfair to MAKE you WORK all these hours.

55-60 for me.

And they thank you so much for hour hard effort. Although from the amount of your posts it appears you slack off quite a bit. Also apparently spend some time watching who washes their hands in the bathroom.

I have a job, pay taxes , so I do support them as much or perhaps more than you. I admit it is a problem, but also admit if I were in there shoes, I'd be doing the same.

40 hours a week is a CAKE WALK!!!!!

TB505 - Seeing poverty is not the issue. We have all seen poverty.

Doing whatever is required to not be poor is the issue. Some are unwilling to make sacrifices.

I am sure my story is not extremely unique. My grand parents were very poor and made huge sacrifices to not stay poor. My parents were very poor and made huge sacrifices to not stay poor. I was never poor but not given a free ride either. Worked manual labor jobs for many years before and after HS.

How about 52 hours straight - never left the rig floor. 126 hours in a week WORKING in a dangerous environment with explosives and radioactive tools. Struggled and sacrificed working multiple jobs at points to make ends meet.
I started working very young and haven't stopped yet. (thank you God!)

I quit a well paying job and took a job for much less pay but a regular 40 hour work week as it would be possible to go to school at nights and I completed college at 29. Sacrifices have proven to be very well worth the investment.(thank you God!)

I sacrificed (not a big as grand parents or parents) and invested in my education and skills helps to insure against being poor and to provide a better life for my family. As long as our society does not crumble.

If we do get to WROL/SHTF scenario - I have invested in surviving too.

Interesting that many of the "power-workers" who are so proud to be pulling excessive hours are also very bitter at the world for it...
