ADC is no different than the media.... Someone posted a slightly off color comment , no matter how slight and some thin skinned person gets offended and the PC police show up....Funny the threads you pick to sensor...

I guess I'm thin skinned, then. When people use a derogatory term to refer to people who are gay, I get upset...I think it's a lousy thing to do.

SO, this being private property, I get to call the shots and make the rules. Don't use derogatory terms like that on ADC...if you don't like it, you're free to go to a different web site that allows it, and say whatever you like.

I don't read all the threads on ADC, but when I see something bad, I step in...hopefully people can mostly manage themselves without me having to micromanage conversations on here too much.

You mean the so called "reality" shows' character is exactly as he is on TV? So is A/E selling us a reality show where Phil is the Patriarch, Christian, that ends every show with a prayer...then they fire him for actually being as such? Is there something wrong with THAT logic?

Statement from the Robertson family:

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right.We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

I absolutely love this interview. I support Phil in his opinion and faith. I don't understand the difference in someone saying I'm Gay and someone saying they don't suoport it or believe in it. It is freedom of speech and faith. If you're Gay that's be you and God if you're not a supporter that too is between you and God! I admire the fact that he was honest and stood by his beliefs. This too proves this reality show is based on how they live and what they believe. Thank you Phil!

I'm a big proponent of gay rights. I believe they deserve the right to marry and have all the protections and freedoms our constitution grants. My opinion on that will not change based on what one man believes and preaches. I understand that the gay community felt slighted by these comments. People need to learn that not everyone is going to agree with their lifestyle (this goes beyond being gay) and take if for what it is.

With that being said I support Phil. He is speaking what he feels is the truth and I have no issue with that. In the same breath he says that we should love everyone the same and let God sort it out. By saying that, he's saying that God is the judge and he is not. I don't feel that he should apologize for what he believes to be true and I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt so many feelings. I don't think someone should be condemned when they give their honest opinion even when it doesn't fall in line with what you believe. He appears to not be a hipocrite about his beliefs.

Just goes to prove you can do anything in Hollywood except give talk about the LGBT community, Jews or blacks.

I remember a few years ago what happened to Imus when he said what a lot of us were thinking. Hopefully this won't happen to him.

Imus is back but doesn't take positions he used to. Hopefully this won't happen to duck dynasty.

Hollywood is run by all these people no wonder we are have a moral crisis in America.

No doubt the rest of the family will walk off of the show which is the most popular show on Cable TV.

Everyone has a right to voice their opinions ( but to me it is just not reasonable) to try & say how happy black people were under Jim Crow laws in pre -civil rights era in the back woods of La in the 1950's .I'd like him to explain why James Byrd Jr in 1998 in Jasper tx excepted a ride home from 3 white men & he was beat & chained to the back of a pickup truck & drug till his death . Now 1998 is clearly after civil rights & he claims they were all happy in the 50's .

Man, I was viewing some of his preaching videos...yikes!

Not to mention his and Kay's history. And the message boards in his town that tout the family as total fraud. Some interesting info out there about the type of person he is and was.
