@West-Tex: i just spent 150 for 2 people this morning. I didn't buy ANY meat. I buy my meat at Costco since I am not blessed to have an HEB.

Heck I am not that old and I remember being disappointed when the weekly grocery bill started hitting $70

And $15k is way off. My parents bought their house in the Oaks in 1978 for around $78k.

@Luckysis : I surely think the 1960s because when I was first married my husband gave me a 20.00 for groceries. It was as SAD time for me. I had to show my groceries receipt along with any change. That lasted 9 years too long. After my divorce I stayed single for almost 18 years I was terrified I might get another overbearing one. When I met my second husband we had so many talks about our expectations from each other. I knew he loved me a lot because he never balked or made fun of my rules and regulations. Ha Ha We recently celebrated 31 years together..
