Teacher friends- I need your advice

#msg2199619According to the school board, the administrattion, and the parents. little Johnny has never done anything bad in his life. It is your fault the little #%&%##% is not paying attention, is on his/her/its phone, and never turns in assignments. And you better not give him/her/it a zero for missing a test or an assignment. Last place I taught the lowest grade, for completely missing a test or homework, was a 70, because the administration did not want the little #^&*((*&^% to fail. And no, I no longer teach in the public school system and would not go back to it no matter how much it paid. A couple classes a year as an adjunct professor at a college, where most students want to learn, is enough to keep me in touch with the younger generation. I wish I could give you some words of encouragement, but so many of the high school and junior high school kids today are worthless because their parents are worthless. They do not control them at home, and do not believe they do any wrong at school.
