@ParksideRes : Again, no it is not incorrect. It is easy to say we should toughen the laws. If you want a true read on people, ask if the support abolishing the Second Amendment. Without abolishing the Second Amendment, pass all the laws you want. Nothing will change.
As for you registration and verification argument, won't work. People will just say they sold the gun. And put in a fake name for the buyer. Question them and they will say "that's what he told me. That is the address he gave me." Prove him wrong. You think chasing 15 million illegal aliens is a disaster, wait until you try chasing 300 million guns.
We already have gun registration laws. That no one follows. If we pass a new registration law, when the initial registration of guns is complete, you will have 10 million guns registered. And 290 million that nobody knows what happened to.
Laws only work if people want to follow them. If they don't want to follow them, they will find a way to get around them. Just ask Trump.
