CONSTABLES ARREST SUSPECT WHO CRASHED INTO A RESIDENCE AND FLED THE SCENE

On October 29, 2023, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 18900 block of Oak Bower Drive in reference to a hit and run crash. Upon arriving, witnesses advised that the suspect driver struck a residence and fled the scene.

Constable Deputies searched the area and were able to locate the suspect who fled and identified him as Richard Lara.

"Richard Lara was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fail to Stop and Give Information. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 1." - Constable Mark Herman

He put on an awfully brave looking mugshot face... for someone too scared to stick around and take responsibility for his actions...

@Sammee: they don't have enough money to pay for a decent haircut. That's why they have to steal, doncha know?

The haircut IS the cause. God only knows how I would act if my bangs were that short!

Here we go with that hundred dollar bond. They act like that's the only number they can use. They need to start putting bigger bonds on these people.

@Sammee :
It is probably the same loser. He just got out on $100 Bond and made it back out on the streets.

@Pinehurst : It's usually the same loser over and over again. But multiple losers because there is no punishment. It's a joke. The manager at ***** one of them told me that they have so much shoplifting go in there and he said they capture them arrest them and give them $100 bond or $250 bond he said and three days later they're back shoplifting out of the store again.

Blame your Representatives in Austin. They De-Criminalized a lot of crimes over the years to relieve overcrowding in jails. DWI, Hit & Run, plus others, used to be felonies, with hefty bonds. Now they are misdemeanors second degree, which has a $100 bond. The judges hands are tied here.

@Smokeybear :
Votes have consequences. We need to get rid of them and get people in there to protect us.
