My beach home area is probably as good as it can get. The only people besides the owners and the renters are fishing guys that think they can just go through the property to get to the water. That happens at mine a lot between the two because there's a empty lot. There are signs saying they can't be there but they just go on by.

I grew up in the Houston area and moved to Oklahoma in 1979 stayed here until 2006 and DW got transferred to Houston. We bought a home in the newest addition of the Pines of Atascocita it was quiet and not a lot of traffic, then they started the expansion on 1960 and our hood became a cut through, there was days you would see dump trucks cement trucks big semis and lots of heavy equipment and the idiots drag racing down Pinewood Park all hours of the day and night. We would get videos and plate numbers and call the constables, nothing, understaffed was the normal reply if they showed up. In early 2025 we started getting house ready and we got out of there we keep in touch with some of our old neighbors and it still is a drag strip, and the crime is up in the area, I am happy to be out of there.

I was burglarized in my first house in A north within months of moving in, same with second house, plus cars broken into.
When I moved to A south, I lived the for 15 years, had 2 attempted home break-ins (front door kicked in, back windows pried) car windows smashed 2or 3times, freaks ringing door in middle od the n8ght, homeless guy living in back of foreclosures.Been in New house for 14years, had my unlocked car gone through once or twice in that time, So yeah, crime is everywhere, but the volume varies massively.

I thought about this last night and if I wanted to move I have no where would be better but the beach homes and my son doesn't want to live there. Crime is everywhere. I've been here from the beginning and I am guessing I will leave here to hope Heaven. I thought of all this last night and I do think we had someone go through my husband truck but he kept all kinds of stuff there and wouldn't know what they took IF they did. We have never had a car in the 3 car garage. My car is outside without locked. Nothing is in it so better than mess the lock. My two dogs better tell me! Oh, I have had batteries for my mower stolen from the back yard. Those suckers are $200 each and I guess someone was coming from the back. I now have only one battery and they better leave it or start mowing my yard!

Im okay with the occasional hurricanes, it's the damn insurance rates that are killing me
