@sandman I would feel much better about guns if everyone had the skills and knowledge that you seem to have. I appreciate your taking time to answer my questions. Thank you.

Unrelated note - we were at Natural Bridge Cavern this past weekend and they were having an archery event - folks were shooting at all kinds of target animals out in the woods - it was neat to see all their gear and I enjoyed all the families out together in the outdoors enjoying the sport in the beautiful hill country.

@Cabin_Mama

Thanks for the comment. Although I don't consider myself an average gun owner (have more training most, practice more often than most, read the laws & regulations for Texas & Federal), I also believe that the average gun owner in this country is not the idiot the media and some politicians describe.

@Matthew87

I've been thru some basic firearms training a long time ago... NRA-type classes that go over firearms safety, shooting fundamentals, etc.

A few years back I went to some training focused on handguns, like defensive handgun, low-light situations, shooting on the move, personal protection inside the home, weak hand shooting, etc.

In 2013 I bought my first MSR and did some carbine classes (basic, advanced), combined carbine/handgun training.

The basic classes I have taken are usually NRA instructors/ex-Law Enforcement. I've trained in small groups with other personnel (not regular LEOs or NRA instructors).

Although I have been a gun owner for more than 25 years and I learnt to shoot during my teens, I was one of those gun owners that saw no use for an AR-15 until Obama and Feinstein tried to take them away after the Sandy Hook shooting. I now build my own as a hobby.

Any updates? This might just be an inside job!!!

We go there frequently. I'm not sure how this could happen with the security they have in place.
