@eighteen : What a disgrace. Will his mother get in some trouble for not turning him in earlier? Probably not.

Since a lawyer was already involved, changes are a lot of people knew where he was. Cops have better things to do than chase a kid(?) and risk their lives in the process. They wait them out. Until a quiet day. I have had several Liberty cops tell me this. Plus chances are there are a lot of guns and they do not want to be shot.

@carol888 : There's that word again (kid). I don't know very many "kids" that can chase down a semi-pro athlete while squeezing off accurately placed rounds.

@eighteen : Have you ever thought about the perp's family or the hard times they may be going through? I'm Jay's 14 year old brother and just seeing you people constantly berate and hate on one of the few people that have been with me my entire life breaks my heart. To think that you people are stalking my mother's social media is scary. Just leave us alone and let us live. My brother is a good person and none of you know him.

@Konzumas : You're kidding, right? A good person does not shoot another person - and continue to shoot that person after he's down. A good person does commit murder. A good person would also not have his family lie for him. I understand you love your brother, but I hope you can learn from his mistakes and not follow in his footsteps.

@Konzumas : Social media has privacy settings, to allow only people you give permission to view or post to your account. Many individuals turn their social media off in times like this.

@Konzumas : I'm sure you love your brother very much and I genuinely feel badly for you and your mother. If your brother perpetrated this crime and if he gets convicted, he's going to have a change of perspective very quickly (if not already). From the bottom of my heart I hope you listen to that new found perspective and do not follow down his road. Two lives actually ended that day. You'll never know what Jay's true potential was and he won't be around to celebrate with you through the good times or help you through the bad. That's gotta be tough and I have no idea what you're going through-normal lives don't intersect situations like this. Learn what a human life is worth, learn to solve problems with your mind, and do everything you can to find a positive role model for your life. There are a lot of good men in this community. Praying for you and your family.

@Konzumas : You're brother is a ******* idiot and could have easily shot any of the other boys that were out there, to include my kid! I hope you choose to be more responsible. And yes, I have a pretty good idea what's it's like to be a family member of an accused perp, which is why I didn't berate him publicly or otherwise. So while my heart does go out to your family, as well as, the victims family and all the boys who witnessed their friend get murdered in cold blood, I cannot feel the same way about your brother. He made the choice to commit such a senseless act, and for what? To throw his life away. Now two Mothers lose their sons and you've lost your brother. Eric's siblings lost their brother too.This is real life, kid. Real actions have real consequences; so, if you want to be mad at someone... be mad at your brother.
