It's best not to comment on any subject if you are not knowledgeable about said subject. Please do not confuse your opinion with fact. If you knew anything about Joel, you would know that is not true. If you want to stand beside him at the pearly gates and see what Jesus says, I'd like to stand by you while I watch Him tell you that you are worse because of your judgment and false accusations toward Joel.

Kinda humorous, did Joel say that you can disagree with Joels doctrine but you can't slander him, however, if you disagree with Swaggart, you CAN slander him, just not Joel.

We went to his dads church quite a bit, really liked him. Haven't been since Joel took it over and moved to the Summit, I think he's a scammer, just like Swaggart. I slandered them both, I'm an equal opportunity slanderer, call them the way I see them.

The net worth for Dr Ed Young listed here isn't in the top 250 in his church.....and I'm likely conservative with that estimate.

@cador : Maybe refresh your knowledge of the definition of 'slander'.
Swaggert has monthly services for several days just for begging for money and admonishes people if they don't send large amounts. He's theatrical and he's phony. He rebuked the church's leadership when he was told he couldn't preach after committing adultery and was never repentant, although he put on quite a show on TV.
Truth is not slander.
Slander is falsely accusing someone and damaging their reputation. I guess you don't get that Joel doesn't beg for money. The recent meme of him asking for money so God will answer prayers was false & hatefully created.
I'm not trying to change your opinion of Joel, regardless of how wrong you are; but I will always defend truth and plead with Christians to refrain from hurting each other.

He is not a "fire & brimstone" preacher. He is also not a 'name it, claim it' preacher.
He does encourage people to have faith that God will supply all our needs (which is Biblical).
I'm sorry the Lakewood haters have interpreted Joel's messages so negatively.
Next time you see a pastor on TV, mute the sound and watch his face. Do you see love or do you see anger? Joel's love is clearly visible.
