Real anything is always better. But you can microwave real bacon between sheets of paper towels. Although a large amount of bacon would have to be done in small batches.

Real bacon is better but the microwave is much more convenient so this is what I make.

Thanks, guys. DH tried to tell me they taste the same. He gets microwave bacon for himself and I asked him for The Real Thing. We had a gentle discussion and he bought some real bacon for me. Now I bet when I'm cooking some up, THAT bacon will disappear quickly.

Real bacon. Microwave bacon is real bacon partially cooked, but it's paper thin and doesn't have as much flavor, IMO.

I throw thick cut bacon on a wire rack over a lined cookie sheet (to catch the grease) and toss it the oven before I get everything else prepped. Better yet, rub generous amounts of dark brown sugar and a little cayenne on both sides, same method...Pig Candy!

Kroger low sodium pre cooked bacon is not bad one minute in micro and its crispy and good DW would only eat fried bacon but she tried it and she likes it.

I use either thick cut or use 2 strips of thin on top of each other. Use the broiler pan with foil covering the bottom to catch the grease and bake in the oven.
