Wow.. I lived there for two years, moves out last year in May because I was pointed with a gun in the parking lot during a cellphone robbery (the idiot kid didn't even take my phone causw it wasn't an iPhone)... When I moved in it was a decent complex but management changed and they wwnt downhill quickly... I still have a friend who lives there and we went to visit her not long ago and it felt super ghetto, there was a guy walking around with a gun tucked in his pants giving everyone the stink eye... It was a Saturday around 3pm

So sad that atascocita has gone ghetto but honestly crime all over Houston is outta hand... I've considering moving out a lot

@soccer : where wouldyou go, its everywhere and getting worse, even in the heights, Midtwon, Galleria, Woodlands, Tomball, its everywhere. I lived in New York area, Hoboken for many years and I never felt safer, even at 1 or 2 AM. I also lived in Battery Park and still felt safer there than I do here.

@bittone but would you live in future new york, where it is converted into a maximum security prison and surrounded by a 50 foot wall with all routes out dismantled or mined, while armed helicopters patrol the rivers and all the residents are sentenced to life, with no means of living ?

I recently lived there as a single mom for 2 1/2 years. New management, new paint, new maintenance & many new upgrades outside. Very quiet. NEVER felt threatened. An occasional car broken into, but that's all over. Never a problem & management always addressed my complaints. (Minor issues)
My biggest complaint...if you don't get home early enough then you can't find a spot to park close to your apartment.

Btw...Eagle Crest main entrance is on Atascocita Rd. They are across from Culvers & Wingstop. Secondary entrance & exit is on Timber Forest Dr. across from Timberwood Middle School. (And beside the fire dept)
There are 2 other complexes between Atascocita Road and 1960. One is senior housing. The other is Timberlakes.

@bittone : I like Portland and Seattle a lot and have also thought about Minessota... Weather, crime and lack of public transportation is what really motivates me to move

@bittone : also, I agree the crime situation is spreading all over Houston but in my opinion Cypress, friendswood/Pearland and Sugarland are doing way better than atascocita...
