@Mandabunni : Congratulations on being clean. Day by day!
I was in MH PaRC Rehab for alcohol- age 21 through 75. We all attended classes from 9-9 daily plus, AA, CA and NA. As an Alcoholic with no drug issues, I still had to go to CA and NA because by stopping one addiction another may start. Dopamine and Serotonin was affected by the alcohol. Those 3 weeks was eye opening for sure. So many young people had major addictions to some really bad s*hit. Some willing admIssions (ME), some forced, some mandatory court referred, and some repeaters (mini vacay from life, aka, work and college) So many sad and scary stories.
I often wonder how many stayed clean/sober or who are still chasing the dragon. 😪
Alcohol Free for the second time 11 months today!!
First time.......3 hours sobriety.....triggered to relapse. 😡
The entire PaRC staff is made up of doctors, nurses, counselors, etc. in all types of Recovery. The fact that they have experienced addictions personally not JUST book knowledge impressed me.
