Felon Found Asleep Behind Wheel with Gun, Arrested

CONSTABLES ARREST SUSPECT FOR DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED AND FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM!
On May 22, 2025, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to a welfare check on a male asleep behind the wheel in a moving lane of traffic in the 18000 Block of Timber Forest Drive and Will Clayton Pkwy. The driver, identified as Donyale Britten displayed multiple signs of intoxication and deputies deployed traffic spikes in front of the vehicle to prevent him from driving away and he ran over the spikes when he was awakened.
A series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and it was determined that he was intoxicated. A handgun was located in plain view within the vehicle along with 0.11oz of marijuana and an empty bottle of tequila. He was also a convicted felon.
"Donyale Britten was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Driving While Intoxicated. His bond was set at $20,000.00 out of the 487th District Court." - Constable Mark Herman
